How long does ISO 27001 certification take?
It depends on your scope and starting point. We always begin with a gap analysis, which sets a realistic timeline and cost before you commit.
Do you carry out the certification audit?
No. Certification is carried out by an independent, UKAS-accredited certification body. We prepare you for it and support you through the audit.
Which version of ISO 27001 do you work to?
ISO/IEC 27001:2022, the current version of the standard.
Do you help with other ISO standards?
Yes. We also support ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems.
Why do clients ask for ISO 27001?
Larger and regulated organisations need assurance that their suppliers protect data properly. ISO 27001 is a recognised, independently audited standard, so it answers that question without a long list of follow-up requests.
Is ISO 27001 a legal requirement?
No. But it supports compliance with laws such as UK GDPR, and many tenders and client contracts require it.
Does ISO 27001 help with UK GDPR?
Yes. It strengthens how you identify, protect and manage personal data, and gives you evidence of the controls you have in place.
Is ISO 27001 suitable for a smaller organisation?
Yes. The standard scales to your size and complexity, and we keep the system proportionate so it does not create unnecessary work.
What happens after certification?
Certification is checked by annual surveillance audits and renewed every three years. We help you maintain and improve your ISMS as the business and the threats change.
