Policy:
The Conosco organisation provide “Users” with access to this Environmental Policy and provide education and training to its employees through online training for the Environment.
Relevant procedures and standards shall be developed, maintained, and published within the business to achieve compliance with this policy and the environmental and sustainability program.
Objective:
The Environmental and Sustainability program is to ensure the organisation acts ethically and with integrity in the execution of our business and in the business relationships and partnerships we embark.
The organisation is committed to improving our environmental and sustainability practices to preserve and protect our planet for current and future generations.
Purpose:
To ensure that our employees, clients, suppliers of services, regulatory bodies and other interested parties understand the organisations approach to working to the highest ethical standards and in compliance to all relevant laws and regulations applicable to the industries and countries in which we operate our business.
To continually improve and monitor our environmental and sustainability performance and reduce environmental impacts. To incorporate environmental factors into business decisions and regularly review environmental risks affecting our business.
Scope:
This policy is applicable to all Conosco employees, clients, interested parties and suppliers.
The senior management team are responsible for the implementation, review, and distribution of this policy internally and externally.
Scope statement:
The management of business assets materials and general waste having an environmental impact in execution of the Conosco business London.
Environmental and Sustainability Statement
Introduction
Conosco strives to act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. Conosco is committed to improving our environmental and sustainability practices to preserve and protect our planet for current and future generations.
Approach:
We always work to the highest ethical standards and comply with all laws, regulations, and rules relevant to our business. Our reputation is paramount, and we take our Environmental and Sustainability Responsibilities seriously. Much has already been achieved, especially in carbon reduction through the efficient generation of heat and power, as well as the reduction in water and plastic consumption. We have also introduced recycling of the waste disposal / destruction of laptops, PC’s, and IT peripherals with recycling certification of destruction and re-use.
Commitment:
In effort to continuously improve Conosco is committed to:
- Promoting environmental and sustainability issues and goals through awareness events, technological solutions, and financial incentives.
- Reducing our use of non-renewable energy and utilities (which includes monitoring, managing, and minimising the use of water through water efficiency education, audits, and technology).
- The development of green travel policies and raising awareness about environmental issues.
- Improving the Recycling of our waste management systems, by using a supplier who breaks down our electronic waste and reuses the components in new systems reducing pollution and the amount of waste going to landfill.
- Achieving Carbon Neutral status in 2021.
- Striving for Net Zero status by 2028 and beyond. We realise that our relationships with those we deal with, whether customers, employees, suppliers, or the wider community, are key to our success and as such we take our obligations and commitments seriously. We expect the same exacting standards from those we work with, and we are committed to ensuring that there is an appreciation of our collective environmental and sustainability responsibilities in our supply chains and all parts of our business.
Supplier Adherence:
As part of our supply chain assessment process, we will conduct annual Environmental and Sustainability surveys to measure our suppliers’ awareness and actions. We will encourage suppliers to join us in publishing their environmental and sustainability statements.
Responsible and Ethical Trading:
We strive to conduct our business in a responsible and ethical manner; we have a legal and regulatory register of laws and regulations that we conform to in the execution of our business.
The business performs due diligence of service providers and software as a service we procure services from. We only use suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to ethical and responsible practices.
Carbon Footprint Reduction:
Conosco is committed to minimising our environmental impact and reducing our carbon footprint. We have made a sustainability commitment to benefit the environment, including:
- Calculating our carbon footprint from energy consumption and setting a target to reduce this.
- Reduce energy consumption by motion sensor, switch off electrical equipment not in use at the end of the working day.
- Adjust heating to minimum levels when leaving the office
- Reducing paper use in the office and only using 100% recycled paper.
- Reduce water consumption through use of energy efficient technology.
- Recycle all paper waste.
- Recycle all laptops and peripherals through recycle scheme with licenced operator.
- New equipment purchases will be energy efficient.
- Promote the use of travel alternatives using teams conference.
- Ensure our cleaners use environmentally friendly materials.
- Encouraging staff to walk and exercise more through game plan i.e. travel / walking / running / swimming / jogging.
- Carrying out a green energy drive.
- Own coffee machine branded (avoids having to purchase from high street)
Non-essential travel:
All non-essential travel is discouraged, and other methods of communications is encouraged such us of email, telephone, teams and Zoom meetings are preferred to physical location meeting.
Conosco have a working from home scheme all employees can work from home or a secure remote location. Many employees are remote working and in total 97% of all employees either work from home, remotely, or onsite at client buildings, this has reduced travel to work.
Working in the Community & Volunteering:
Conosco have a dedicated scheme in operation which encourages and allows our employees to give back to the community. Everyone working at Conosco is encouraged to spend a working day a year volunteering – fully paid. This provides us with an opportunity to build stronger relationships with our clients and offers us the opportunity to develop new skills and build on existing ones.
Ethical Fundraising:
We have several activity schemes in place where we raise money for Charity or sponsor worthy causes.
Through our internal reward scheme” bonus, our employees can give to Charity through our “Conosco Dollars” scheme.
Protecting Employees:
Health and Safety:
We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of discrimination, harassment, or exploitation, and we provide a safe and healthy working environment.
We comply to the principles of the Modern Slavery policy, and we are committed to ensuring that our business and our supply chains are compliant with the Modern Slavery act (2015) where applicable.
Supporting Diversity and Inclusion:
Conosco have a clearly defined approach to Diversity and inclusion and have an open culture in the workplace.
We value diversity and inclusion, and we monitor this within the workplace, to create an environment in which all employees are treated equally and with respect.
Mental Health Support:
We are committed to supporting our employees who may be struggling with Mental Health related issues.
We have a fully trained mental health First Aiders who regularly conduct Mental health workshops.
Maternity, paternity, and parental leave:
Parental support includes expectant parents during their pregnancy or adoption process and all parents and careers during their Maternity, Paternity, Adoption or Shared Parental Leave periods, and upon their return to work.
We believe in a personal approach, meeting the individual needs of each employees’ health and wellbeing, leading up to and after the birth or adoption of their child.
Further Steps:
Conosco employees attend annual mandatory policy training, which includes training specifically on our Environmental and Sustainability policy. Conosco is committed to reviewing and updating the policy and associated training as and when required.
